Broke Holler
Broke Holler
Kim and Pete McWhirter’s songs come from life’s experiences, and tell stories of love, loss, and inspiration. For the past ten years they have been performing their music all around North Carolina, from Oakracoke to Bryson City. In 2004, Kim joined her husband to share the songs she had written. The blending of their mountain voices and guitar styles are a natural development of who they are, and where they grew up in Yancey County, North Carolina. They have recently renamed the duo “Broke Holler”, and have released their second CD on the “Airborn” record label titled “Mountain Songbook”, a collection of mountain favorites made famous by artists including Doc & Merle Watson, Dr. Ralph Stanley, and the Carter Family. You might remember them from years past as ”He Said. She Said” or “Doc Hill.”Pete and Kim are also potters in Yancey County, continuing the McWhirter family business that has thrived since 1963.
Hot Duck Soup

The band members are Rob Levin on guitar, Claudia Dunaway on uke and cornet, Joy Boothe on cacophonium and vocals, John D. Richards on banjo, slide whistle, and vocals, Tim Clark on washtub bass and saw.

Lorien & Early - Soul Trio
Lorien & Early - Soul Trio
Polly Lorien is a soulful singer/songwriter with more than just love to wail about! On her most recent recording, Polly is accompanied by exemplary multi-instrumentalist Bob Early and delightful drummer Matt Riley. Original song topics range from the itchy feet of wild women to the slippery nature of time, so this music appeals to both the head and the heart.

David Wiseman :da6d
David Wiseman :da6d"
David has been called a troubadour, balladeer, and “throwback in all the best ways.” His songs tell stories that are often left untold. David's acoustic guitar, harmonica, porch board, and unmistakable gruff vocal style reflect the souls of the songs he writes.

Smokey Joe Peoples
Smokey Joe Peoples
Smokey Joe and the South Toe Syndicate led by lead singer Smokey Joe Peoples offer an eclectic mix of Americana music, including original songs and a few fan favorite cover tunes. In addition to the one and only, "almost nearly world famous one time,” Smokey Joe, the band also includes Susan Scoggins, singing with an Appalachian twang that blends smoothly with Smokey Joe’s rich, melodic voice. Lenny Skii, classically trained at the New England Conservatory of Music, plays the strings off the fiddle. Yves Giraud, an accomplished singer-songwriter and musician in his own right, plays bass and sings back-up. Peggy Williams, the band’s hand percussionist, plays the tambourine and other instruments that add an extra flavor to the music. Dale Meyer, the newest member, is on the lead guitar and also plays the dobro, banjo, and mandolin.
Carpathian Spruce
Carpathian Spruce
Carpathian Spruce plays music from the Balkans. The Balkans are a fractured land divided and in conflict. Band members Danny Blose, Justine Cefalu, Garnet Morgan, Matt Riley and Eric Witherspoon envision peace and acceptance and seek to be involved in this process by appreciating the musical heritage of the region. The name "Carpathian Spruce" refers to the trees used to provide the wood for the tops of violins, the warmth and breadth of the voice of the instrument. The band is also aware that the best trees, over 100 years old, need time care and cultivation.
Thistle Dew
Thistle Dew
Based in east-Tennessee and western-North Carolina, Thistle Dew is a vocal collaboration dedicated to preserving and perpetuating the two forms of "roots" music which are nearest and dearest to our hearts -- Celtic and Appalachian. By blending the best of both we've created something new and unique: "Celtalachian" Music. The Dew Drops have often been told that our harmonies are magical, and all we have to say about that is "This'll Do!"

Yves Giraud
Yves Giraud
The Yves Giraud Band’s show encompasses all of Yves’ original soulful rock music, creating an ethereal experience with a universal sound. Yves’ music hints of Maroon 5, John Mayer, Sting, and Seal. Yves Giraud was born a Frenchman. At an early age, he began playing piano and playing small gigs and parties in southern France with his band Attila. After moving to California in the late 80s and playing most of the clubs in Los Angeles with several bands as either a guitarist or a bass player, Yves relocated to Florida in the mid 90s where he eventually became a full time musician in the early 2000s and the owner/operator of Studio M31, in Hollywood, FL. Over the years, Yves has had the pleasure of playing in countless bands, touring all across the States and opening for well known national artists such as Sheryl Crow, the Steve Miller Band, Chris Isaak and the Doobie Brothers among others. In late 2013, he moved to Burnsville, NC . "I've always considered myself a decent multi-instrumentalist but most of all and foremost, a good songwriter. I pride myself in the musical compositions I create and the lyrics I write for them. My life is the life of a typical struggling artist, with its ups and downs, its moments of doubts and constant self-criticism but I truly believe in following my heart, finding my true love and moving through life doing what I believe I was meant to do: Writing songs. So far, it has been a fabulous journey and I look forward to many more adventures."
