OOAK Art Gallery and Maples present Dan Williams and Greg Speas, Thursday June 22, 2017 from 7:00 to 9:00 in the Gallery. Cost for the concert is $5.00.
Dan Williams and Greg Speas met playing Open Mics in the WNC region, and soon they began playing and harmonizing together. Joining Dan and Greg are percussionist Colleen Lambert and fiddle player Elijah Stanton-Gullak.
Dan Williams is a singer-songwriter from Madison County. He accompanies his original songs with his twelve string guitar and harmonica. Dan draws his material from historic family stores and life experiences.
Greg Speas is a singer-songwriter from North Carolina and has played in several groups over the years, including the Roan Mountain Hilltoppers. Along with his original compositions and his love for the traditional folk songs and ballads, his interpretation of these tunes has developed into a style that is unique.
Colleen Lambert studied in Asheville with River Guerguerian for many years. Elijah Stanton-Gullak is a classically trained violinist turned good ol’ fiddle player. Colleen’s talent with hand drums and Elijah’s combined playing style along with Dan and Greg’s amazing blend of music, give a unique and fascinating fullness to their sound their amazing performance of Americana music.
The Micaville Music Concert Series is proud to be a part of the Blue Ridge Music Trails of North Carolina.
Micaville is located 4 miles east of Burnsville, 14 miles north of BRP milepost 344 at the intersection of Hwy 80 S and Micaville Loop on the Mt Mitchell Scenic Byway. Parking is available in front of the church, across the street in the empty lot and in the old Taylor Togs parking lot.
